A few days ago I wrote about using powertop to monitor battery life and Linux power usage. Back then my laptop was running kde4 and all the “bells and whistles”, nowdays its slimmer and running openbox and has a new run level named “green”, which is now my default.

Evening with powertop

Today I discovered new utility, quite nice actually, it monitors on your machine’s power usage like ‘top’ and gives some hints on what to do in the name of saving power. Well, I was foolish enough to not get readings before optimizing my kernel, so now I have no proof of improvement and my battery does not get much better mileage than I think it had before. These are the tweaks that were suggested by that piece of … software.

Things are starting out nicely

Ha ha! I think I’m starting to get hang of this thing, yesterday I added an gallery plug-in and today i added a few hundred pictures that I took on my summer vacation in Netherlands. It was an awful lot of fun, surprise surprise. Drugs had nothing to do with it, I’m just a merry person, really… Well, back on the wagon, the pictures are mainly from a place called Nijmegen but we also visited other cities and Belgium.

I’m still in progress (not really, it just needs to be done and I’m lazy as hell..) of categorizing those pictures and adding descriptions where they are needed.

I have no idea why i thought it would be nice to install wordpress, installation went fine but now I dont know what to do with it.
